A Journey of Passion, Purpose and Advocacy
Hello! I’m Katherine De La Cruz, Founder and Director of Developing Young Minds, LLC. My passion for education and child development has been at the heart of this program. With a degree in Childhood Studies, years of classroom experience, a background as a Developmental Specialist, and the perspective of being a mom, I've come to see just how important it is to create meaningful and inclusive learning opportunities for every child. Throughout my years in both traditional classroom and individualized support settings, I witnessed the powerful impact of hands-on, engaging, and flexible learning experiences. It wasn’t until my child and many of the families I worked with faced similar challenges in a rigid, one-size-fits-all classroom that I truly understood the urgency for change.
Homeschooling became our path forward, a decision to reclaim the joy of learning, and through it, I discovered a renewed sense of purpose. I envisioned a nurturing environment where each child’s unique rhythm, interests, and strengths were not only accommodated but celebrated. A space filled with movement, creativity, exploration, and genuine connection.
That vision came to life through Developing Young Minds, LLC, a home education enrichment program rooted in project-based learning, sensory exploration, and nature-based discovery. Our mission is to nurture curiosity, build confidence, and foster a lifelong love of learning while supporting each child’s academic, social, and emotional growth.
At Developing Young Minds, every child is seen, heard, valued, and supported. We believe in progress over perfection and creating a space where learners thrive in their own time and way. Together, we are not only teaching differently we are creating a new path forward for children who deserve more.
